Chen Xiang, the second level director of Animal Quarantine Division I of the Animal and Plant Quarantine Office of Shanghai Customs, introduced that pet owners who choose individual applications can fill in application information and upload pet vaccination certificates, personal exit certificates, pet photos, rabies antibody test reports and other materials through the "Internet plus+Customs" platform "Quarantine of Pets Going Abroad" module on the website of the General Administration of Customs. After successful application review, make an appointment for on-site quarantine through the "Customs Clearance Treasure" WeChat mini program.
Shanghai Port is the largest port for pet export business in China, with Shanghai Customs handling over 4500 pet export quarantine cases annually. With the continuous increase in the number of inbound and outbound passengers, the demand for passengers to bring pets in and out of the country continues to grow. In the first quarter of this year, Shanghai Customs has issued 1104 Animal Health Certificates for companion pets leaving Shanghai, an increase of 38.9% year-on-year.
