A good litter box needs to strike a balance between the comfort of the cat and the workload of the owner as much as possible. Exhausting the owner is not a long-term solution. Starting from reality, here are a few indicators that I have chosen for your reference:
Evaluation indicators: Semi closed cat litter box, fully closed cat litter box, automatic cat litter box
Convenient entry and exit, generally qualified
The space is large enough and qualified
Anti splash qualified, qualified, qualified
Convenient to shovel feces, generally qualified
The odor prevention effect is generally qualified
The size of the land occupation is qualified and generally acceptable
From the perspective of cats, evaluate whether the litter box is qualified, with a focus on:
1. Convenient access: For kittens and elderly cats, a semi enclosed litter box is more friendly and there is no need to worry about accidents. For both young and adult cats, all types of litter boxes are acceptable;
2. Large enough space: Most cat litter boxes have different sizes to choose from, so there won't be any problems with measuring and selecting.
Evaluate whether the litter box is qualified from the perspective of a poop scooper, with a focus on:
1. Splash prevention: Cats may cause sand to splash out when digging sand and entering and exiting the litter box. The amount of splash determines the amount of cleaning by the pooper, so minimizing or even avoiding splashing as much as possible will make the pooper feel comfortable. Both fully enclosed litter boxes and automatic litter boxes can achieve almost no splashing, while well-designed semi enclosed litter boxes can achieve very little splashing, which is a qualified indicator for all types;
2. Convenient pooping: The poop scooper becomes a dog every day and has to take care of the cat when they get home. Simplifying the daily pooping process can greatly increase our sense of happiness. Due to the inconvenience of removing the lid of the fully enclosed litter box compared to the other two types, the evaluation of this indicator is average.
3. Odor prevention effect: The role of the litter box in odor prevention work is about 50%, which is also related to litter and timely removal of feces. Due to its lack of sealing compared to the other two types, semi enclosed cat litter boxes may experience odor diffusion if not emptied in a timely manner. Therefore, this indicator is evaluated as average. However, this problem can be avoided by promptly removing feces.
4. Size: The automatic litter box takes up more space than the other two types of litter boxes, and the size selection is not very selective, as it is not recommended for scoopers with limited room space to try.
Here is a brief summary of purchasing suggestions based on the experience of the poop shoveler and the age of the cat:

1. Novice cat owners and cats that are young or elderly: It is recommended to choose a semi enclosed litter box, as it requires frequent and quick cleaning
2. Experienced cat owners and young or adult cats: It is recommended to choose a fully enclosed litter box. At this age, cats can easily enter and exit the litter box, which greatly reduces the cleaning workload of the cat owners
3. Experienced cat owners with sufficient budget and young or adult cats: It is recommended to directly use the automatic litter box, fill all evaluation items, and both humans and cats can experience unprecedented happiness
