Starting January 28, China Railway Express expanded its high-speed rail pet transportation service pilot program for the fourth time, adding 67 stations including Harbin, Shenyang, Taiyuan, Zhengzhou, Hefei, Shanghai, Ganzhou West, Zhuhai, Guilin North, Yinchuan, and Xining, bringing the total number of stations handling the service to 110. The number of high-speed rail trains participating in the service increased from 54 to 170. Specific routes and train numbers can be checked via the China Railway 12306 app.

The pilot scope has been expanded this time, and the high-speed rail pet transportation service will remain unchanged in terms of appointment methods, acceptance processes, service content, and price standards.
Appointment method
Passengers who have purchased tickets marked with the word "pet" can check their space and make online reservations through the "Pet Check in" function on the 12306 railway client. The earliest reservation for the next day's position can be made before 12:00 every day, and the earliest reservation for the third day's position can be made after 12:00 (inclusive). Up to 2 domesticated and healthy pets can be checked in.
For non ticketed passengers, high-speed rail pet check-in can be done offline. You need to provide pet related information and photos through the "China Railway Express" WeChat mini program 2 to 5 days before the check-in date to make an appointment and place an order. A maximum of 1 pet can be checked in.
Procedure
At least 2 hours before the train departs, the consignor shall bring their pet, consignor's ID card, and valid Animal Quarantine Certificate to the China Railway Express Business Department at the high-speed railway station to complete the consignment procedures.
During transportation, a high-speed rail specific pet transport box is used, and the entire process is stored in the high-speed rail express cabinet. The staff remotely observes the status of pets through the monitoring system, conducts open cabinet inspections as needed, adds drinking water appropriately, and does not feed them. The consignor is not allowed to visit pets.
After arriving at the destination station, China Railway Express will notify the consignor to collect the pet within 1 hour via SMS or phone.

price standard
According to the transportation mileage hierarchy, the transportation distance is 558 yuan/unit for 1000 kilometers (inclusive), 658 yuan/unit for 1000-1500 kilometers (inclusive), 958 yuan/unit for 1500-2000 kilometers (inclusive), and 1258 yuan/unit for distances over 2000 kilometers. At the same time, basic insurance with a coverage of 2000 yuan will be given as a gift. During the pilot period, non ticket purchasing passengers will be charged at the standard price; Specific discounts will be given to passengers who purchase tickets on the same train and within the same section, with a 70% discount on the standard price.
